We are local people representing residents in this area of the South Side. We want to improve the quality of life and press for action on local issues. Our meetings are open to the public and take place monthly on Monday evenings at Finns Place on Ledard Road. Community Councils are voluntary organisations established by statute. We are automatically consulted by Glasgow City Council on planning, licensing, traffic and parking controls and other matters. Local councillors, community police and, by invitation, council officers attend our monthly meetings to report on developments and respond to local concerns. Other bodies such as Greater Glasgow NHS and Scottish Power, also use the CC as a means of local consultation. Our views therefore carry some weight and we can often get a local problem dealt with quickly.
