The Dixon Community
health & wellbeing
Description
The Dixon Community is a Scottish registered charity, established in 1972, based in the Dixon Halls in Govanhill. We serve diverse multicultural communities in Linn, Pollokshields, Langside, Southside Central. Our mission is to provide person centred, community based, preventative and support services for people aged over 55 and all carers. Our vision is a good quality of life for people aged over 55 and carers at all stages of their life, as a result of having the health and social care support they need, and from being active, connected and involved in their community. We have 2 main projects: Multicultural Day Opportunities for older people over age 55. A Pathway for Older People (POP). South East Carers Centre a support service for all carers and young carers. Our services are person-centred, community based and focus on a preventative and early intervention model proven to have a positive impact for people and communities.
