EDTS provides a medication assisted treatment service over a 7 day period for people with dependency on opiates. The service is delivered by Nursing, Medical, Social Care and Pharmacy staff. Medication is prescribed and self administered on site. The service provides routes into harm reduction and recovery services and works in close partnership with third sector and other statutory providers such as housing and health services. People can access care for physical and mental wellbeing, as well as referral on to other appropriate services, including crisis services, rehab, detoxification, housing, blood borne virus amongst many others.
