Description
Built in 1906 as one of Glasgow's Carnegie Libraries, Govanhill Library offers a wide range of services and activities in relaxing and inspiring surroundings. With thousands of books and a programme of weekly classes and events, our friendly staff will always be on hand to help you get the most out of your visits. The Baroque style of the library was designed by architect James R. Rhind, with columns, statues and a sandstone dome. More recently, in 2015 the Diversity Windows project created beautiful stained glass windows for the library. These windows tell the stories of the people of Govanhill in colourful artwork
