Volunteer Glasgow: Organisation Support
employment education health & wellbeing integration my community
Description
Established over 50 years ago, Volunteer Glasgow is the city’s one stop shop for volunteering and exists to improve the quality of life of its residents by promoting volunteering. Does your organisation involve volunteers? Our Organisation Support Team can offer you 121 advice on how best to recruit, manage and retain volunteers, and answer any questions you have around volunteering. We manage an online volunteering database where charities, community groups and social enterprises/CICs can advertise volunteering roles for free. All opportunities are reviewed before publishing. Opportunities are shared with the 17000+ members signed up to our website, and via social media. Visit https://opportunities.volunteerglasgow.org/ to find out more. We run training and events for volunteer managers and coordinators. • Smarter Volunteer Manager’s training- a six-week course covering a broad remit of role creation, advertising, recruitment, on boarding, management and support, and completion. • Monthly Advertising Workshops around how best to promote volunteering opportunities, making roles and advertising more inclusive. • Quarterly Networking Events - a chance to discuss the successes and challenges around involving volunteers e.g. diversity, retention, reward and recognition.
