Hello from Auchenshuggle – We are located in the East End of Glasgow at Tollcross/London Road. The Tollcross International Swimming Centre in beautiful Tollcross Park serves our area. The swimming competitions took place there during the Commonwealth Games in 2014. Tollcross Park also has the award winning Rose Flower Garden and a Children’s Farm. The Forestry Commission have taken over the upgrading of Auchenshuggle Woods on London Road. The layout of the woods will be reorganised and fruit trees will be planted. Visitors can access the Clyde Walkway from the woods. Clydegate East has premises located to the west of the woods. Community Council members are voluntary, elected residents of an area who have an interest in the well-being of their area and represent the interests of their area raising any concerns with Glasgow City Council and other relevant bodies. Community Councils have statutory rights of consultation regarding planning applications, licensing and pharmaceutical applications. Anyone who lives in the area and is 16 and over can become a member of the Community Council when a vacancy arises. Anyone can attend Community Council meetings.
